In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic insights to drive business performance. You will work closely with management to streamline financial processes and contribute to the company's financial health.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, verify expenses, and ensure timely payments to vendors while maintaining accurate ledgers.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring full compliance with GAAP.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; support external auditors during audits.
- General Ledger Management: Monitor general ledger accounts, analyze variances, and make necessary adjustments to ensure data accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current accounting processes and implement solutions to improve workflow and productivity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of tax laws, accounting principles, and internal control procedures.
