Job Summary
As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee key financial operations, ensure compliance with GAAP standards, and provide strategic insights to leadership. This role is critical to our financial health and offers a chance to work on high-profile projects.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with high accuracy and timeliness.
- Account Reconciliation: Manage daily reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including bank and credit card statements.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations and internal controls.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes efficiently.
Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Advanced) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy.
- Location: Must be willing to work in Washington DC or the Northern Virginia area.
