In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing statutory accounts, and maintaining compliance with UK tax regulations. You will work closely with the finance director and cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation.
- Ensure full compliance with HMRC tax regulations and internal company policies.
- Conduct internal audits and variance analysis to identify financial trends and discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end audits and tax returns.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes efficiently.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve accounting systems and reporting procedures.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a UK-based environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax laws, VAT, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
