Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in strict accordance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and prepare variance analysis reports.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and strategic forecasts.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role within the UK financial sector.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Deep understanding of UK tax laws, VAT, and corporate tax compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
