Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with variance commentary
- Manage full-cycle accounting for 50+ client portfolios including AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with strict deadlines
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure SOX compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Conduct audits and ensure adherence to federal/state tax regulations
- Mentor junior accounting staff and optimize financial workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Excel (advanced functions)
- Proven track record of managing complex financial reporting cycles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and Louisiana state tax requirements
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
