Responsibilities
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with meticulous attention to detail
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance
- Lead internal and external audit coordination with external auditors
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls and reporting systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements
- Ensure adherence to federal tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Support strategic financial planning and forecasting initiatives
- Mentor junior accounting staff to enhance team capabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience with Big 4 or public sector exposure
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and advanced Excel functions
- Demonstrated experience with federal grant accounting and compliance
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, IRS regulations, and OMB Circular requirements
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong project management capabilities with ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements
