Your Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting, managing complex accounts, and providing strategic financial insights to the management team.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- General Ledger Management: Manage the general ledger, perform month-end and year-end close procedures, and ensure all journal entries are accurate.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank statements, credit card statements, and intercompany accounts.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including assisting with external audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a significant plus.
- Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
