Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is a fully remote position, but we require candidates to reside within the Virginia Beach, VA area to maintain strong collaboration with our office-based leadership.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing internal accounting processes. You will play a key role in driving financial accuracy and supporting strategic decision-making for our growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the development and management of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Ensure strict compliance with US GAAP, FASB, and internal company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial workflows and internal controls.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives and profitability goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proven proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations, and internal audit standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present data to stakeholders.
