Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end monthly and annual accounting cycles, including general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Ensure strict compliance with UK tax legislation, VAT returns, and HMRC regulations.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Prepare complex financial statements and budget variance analyses for senior management review.
- Lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Implement and improve internal controls and financial processes to enhance efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff and assist with ad-hoc financial projects.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar senior accounting role within the UK market.
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and current tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Demonstrated experience in managing audits and tax filings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote environment with high self-discipline.
