Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing remote team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, managing complex accounts, and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations. You will play a critical role in our month-end close process and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict adherence to UK GAAP.
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of VAT returns to HMRC.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage inter-company transactions.
- Assist in the year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
- Process expense reports and maintain accurate fixed asset registers.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance to management.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or part-qualified (Finalist) with substantial experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in a UK-based accounting environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Sage 50 or Xero.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax legislation, specifically VAT and Corporation Tax.
- Excellent Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
