Apex Financial Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. While this is a remote position, we are specifically looking for candidates based in Sacramento, CA, who can collaborate effectively with our distributed finance team.

Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process and assist in variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants during year-end reviews and audits.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Streamline accounting workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- CPA, CMA, or Master’s in Accounting (MAcc) is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a preference for remote work experience.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, tax laws, and internal controls.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
