Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage general ledger accounts and perform detailed monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany accounts.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and support the finance team in monthly forecasting activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee accounts payable operations, ensuring timely vendor payments and accurate recording of expenses.
- Conduct internal audits to identify financial risks and implement necessary controls.
- Prepare and file corporate tax returns and support external auditors during annual audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- CPA certification is a strong plus but not mandatory for exceptional candidates.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Strong knowledge of US tax laws and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
