Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable operations, including reconciliation and audit trails.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial reports to support executive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards and local New York tax regulations.
- Collaborate with the external audit team to facilitate year-end audits and regulatory reviews.
- Streamline accounting processes and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification is highly preferred).
- 3-5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
