Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and tax compliance
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure SOX/GAAP compliance
- Prepare executive dashboards and variance reports for stakeholders
- Lead audit processes and documentation requirements
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA certification required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and advanced Excel functions
- Proven track record in month-end closes and financial reporting
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and audit readiness
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex data
- Remote work experience and self-discipline in virtual environments
