Responsibilities
- Manage month-end closing processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles and maintain general ledger integrity
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with federal/state tax regulations
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for leadership
- Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Lead cross-functional projects to improve accounting system efficiencies
- Mentor junior accounting staff and document standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience with public or corporate accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions)
- Deep understanding of GAAP and Tennessee state tax requirements
- Proven experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong written/verbal communication abilities for stakeholder reporting
- Remote work experience with demonstrated time management skills
