Role Overview
In this position, you will be responsible for the oversight of our financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will act as a key advisor to the finance team, driving process improvements and accuracy in all financial transactions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis to management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing necessary tax filings and schedules.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews of financial processes to identify risks and implement controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong preference for remote or hybrid work experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a remote environment without direct supervision.
