Responsibilities
- Oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for management review.
- Manage month-end and year-end close procedures with strict adherence to GAAP and internal controls.
- Assist in the preparation of federal and state tax returns, coordinating with external auditors and tax preparers.
- Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
- Implement and maintain accounting software systems to streamline financial workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA certification is a strong plus.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with stakeholders.
- Self-motivated individual capable of managing time effectively in a remote environment.
