Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensure accurate journal entries, and perform month-end and year-end close procedures efficiently.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure strict adherence to federal and state tax regulations, internal controls, and accounting policies. Assist with external and internal audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for enhanced efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior accounting staff and collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve complex financial issues.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budget preparation process and assist in the creation of long-term financial forecasts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP, US tax laws, and payroll regulations.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-Management: Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines without direct supervision.
