Role Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization. You will lead month-end close processes, manage complex general ledger activities, and ensure strict adherence to GAAP standards. Your expertise will directly impact our strategic financial planning and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end monthly and annual financial reporting cycle, including the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage general ledger reconciliation and ensure accuracy of financial data across all departments.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns; ensure compliance with changing tax regulations.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal entries and variance analysis.
- Assist in the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA/MAcc) preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license is a strong plus.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within a corporate or high-growth environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and financial regulations in the United States.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights clearly.
