Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP.
- Perform complex account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and credit cards.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for senior management.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and tax filings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proven experience with financial reporting software, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite), and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and regulatory standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and willing to work from our Detroit office or remotely from Virginia.
