Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements with detailed variance analysis
- Manage complex month-end and year-end closing processes including reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and industry-specific regulations
- Develop and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Lead special projects such as process automation and system implementations
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide training on financial best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
- Strong understanding of multi-state tax regulations and payroll compliance
- Proven ability to manage complex reconciliations and financial audits
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration
