The Role
In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, managing complex accounts, and providing strategic insights to leadership. We value autonomy, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Compliance & Auditing: Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and cross-functional departments to support business decisions.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure timely filing with federal and state authorities.
- Expense Management: Review and approve expense reports, ensuring compliance with company budgets and policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
