Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card statements, and inter-company accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of state and federal tax returns, ensuring all deadlines are met and filings are accurate.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for greater efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Support the Finance Director with budget preparation, variance analysis, and special projects as needed.
- Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices comply with current financial regulations and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical judgment.
- Florida Specific: Experience with Florida state tax regulations is preferred.
