We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in the heart of Long Beach, California. As a key member of our finance department, you will bridge the gap between data and strategy, ensuring compliance with GAAP and helping us navigate the competitive landscape of the maritime and logistics industries.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily general ledger accounting and perform month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct thorough bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with department heads to forecast budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification is a plus).
- 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP).
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
