Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and year-end financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 and UK GAAP.
- Manage complex accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all reconciliations are up to date.
- Oversee the budgeting process and provide variance analysis to senior management.
- Ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations, VAT returns, and tax legislation.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.
- Mentor junior accountants and support the finance team with ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications
- Qualified or part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a UK accounting practice or corporate finance environment.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros).
- Excellent understanding of UK tax laws, including Corporation Tax and PAYE.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
