Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in the heart of London. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy and strict compliance with UK GAAP standards. You will lead the month-end close process, prepare statutory accounts, and provide strategic financial insights to drive business growth.

Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and annual financial close process for the UK entity, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Prepare and review complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns and corporation tax calculations in line with HMRC regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory audit schedules and liaise effectively with external auditors.
- Implement and improve internal controls and financial procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the wider management team.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification (Part qualified candidates with strong experience will be considered).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a similar role within the UK market.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage or Xero accounting software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and financial reporting tools.
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation, double-entry bookkeeping, and HMRC compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
