The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and supporting strategic decision-making. You will oversee key accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, timely, and properly classified.
- Perform complex bank reconciliations and variance analysis to identify discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual external audits and tax filings.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and budget variance analysis.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work for accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
