We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Jacksonville, FL. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. You will work closely with management to drive business decisions through data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation of accounts.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring all invoices are processed and payments are made on time.
- Assist in the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Prepare and file state and federal tax returns, ensuring full compliance with tax regulations.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
- Utilize financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) to track budget variances and forecast financial performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
