Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and balance sheets in strict accordance with GAAP.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; assist with quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Support external audits by providing requested documentation and schedules.
- Streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for financial accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting or corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and discrepancies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
