Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- General Ledger Management: Manage general ledger accounts, perform account reconciliations, and investigate variances.
- Payroll & Compliance: Assist with payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and cross-functional departments to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
- Certification: CPA license or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
