Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger reconciliation and month-end close procedures.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, variance reports, and budget forecasts for senior leadership.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and GAAP standards.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax preparation teams to facilitate year-end audits and tax filings.
- Streamline financial processes and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff and review their work for accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA certification is a strong plus).
- 3+ years of progressive experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros, and VBA).
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
