Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end/year-end closings and reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and general ledger maintenance
- Conduct internal audits and implement process improvements for operational efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Mentor junior accounting staff and develop departmental best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder interactions
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in high-volume environments
