Responsibilities
- Manage the Month-End Close: Oversee the general ledger, ensure all entries are accurate, and complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity and resolve any discrepancies.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations; assist external auditors during annual audits.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the processing of invoices, payments, and collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency within the finance department.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certification: CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial management.
