Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage complex reconciliations for bank accounts, investments, and intercompany transactions
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Support external audits and prepare necessary documentation
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public or private sector
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software (Sage 100 a plus)
- Deep understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards
- Proven ability to manage complex reconciliations and month-end processes
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for presenting financial insights to stakeholders
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and payroll processing
