Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping, including sales and purchase ledgers.
- Prepare and submit accurate quarterly VAT returns and year-end statutory accounts.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies efficiently.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with current UK tax laws and accounting standards.
- Oversee the payroll process and process employee expense claims.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to senior management.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or AAT qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting within the UK.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax and PAYE.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
