Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with GAAP standards.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurate, timely, and properly classified.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes, including reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, tax filings, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior staff members and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Certification: CPA certification is highly preferred; CMA or CFA is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
