Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
- Compliance & Audit: Assist in external and internal audits by providing requested documentation and maintaining proper internal controls.
- Tax Preparation: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to state and federal authorities.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement efficient financial software solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior accounting staff and collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve financial discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or auditing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and federal/state tax regulations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure 100% accuracy in data entry and reporting.
