We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in New Orleans. Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. You will play a key role in our month-end close process and assist with various financial analysis projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily general ledger accounting functions and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of annual tax filings and audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the finance team on budget preparation, variance analysis, and forecasting.
- Maintain and update fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- CPA certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or ADP).
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
