Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT returns and tax filings.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for client accounts.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to senior management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar Accountant role within the UK.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage accounting software.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Deep understanding of UK tax laws, including Corporation Tax and VAT.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
