Your Impact
As the Senior Accountant, you will be the guardian of our financial data regarding employee benefits. You will ensure that our payroll and benefits expenses are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in compliance with GAAP and tax regulations. Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile monthly benefits and payroll liabilities, including health insurance, retirement plans, and workers' compensation.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports related to employee benefits expenses.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding employee benefits and payroll taxation.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Assist in the annual audit preparation and provide necessary documentation regarding benefit costs.
- Oversee the administration of 401(k) plans and ensure accurate contribution tracking.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the Finance Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting with a focus on benefits administration or payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Workday).
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and accounting software (SAP, NetSuite).
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
