Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurate, complete, and posted in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for senior management review.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation, schedules, and explanations of complex accounting matters.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and fixed assets to ensure data integrity.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and reduce manual errors.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Review and approve invoices, manage cash flow, and ensure timely processing of payments.
- Tax Support: Collaborate with external tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate completion of annual tax filings and returns.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros) and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy in financial data and documentation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US GAAP, FASB, and relevant tax regulations.
