Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements with GAAP compliance
- Lead month-end closing processes and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Develop and maintain internal controls for financial reporting accuracy
- Collaborate with auditors during annual reviews and ensure compliance requirements
- Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis for department heads
- Streamline accounting workflows using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP software (SAP/Oracle)
- Demonstrated experience with month-end closing and reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and Illinois tax regulations
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- CPA license required
