Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with variance commentary
- Manage complex month-end and year-end closing processes
- Lead SOX compliance testing and internal control documentation
- Develop and maintain key financial reporting dashboards
- Coordinate external audits and tax filings with third parties
- Mentor junior accounting staff on GAAP standards and best practices
- Drive process improvements in financial systems and workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA/CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expertise in full-cycle accounting (GL, AP, AR, Payroll)
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Excel with macros
- Strong SOX 404 compliance and internal control experience
- Proven ability to simplify complex financial concepts for stakeholders
- Uncompromising attention to detail and deadline-driven mindset
- Active CPA license or progress toward certification
