Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and expense management systems
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance and regulatory accuracy
- Develop and implement internal controls to optimize financial operations and risk mitigation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
- Lead audit preparation processes and serve as primary contact for external auditors
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process documentation improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems (Sage 100 experience a plus)
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication abilities for stakeholder collaboration across departments
- Proven experience managing month-end close processes and financial audits
- Tennessee CPA license or actively pursuing certification
