Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including GL maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end closings
- Prepare and analyze financial statements with variance reporting for executive leadership
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable workflows and cash flow optimization
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and state-specific Texas financial requirements
- Lead tax preparation processes and coordinate with external audit teams
- Develop and implement internal controls to enhance financial accuracy
- Mentor junior accountants and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems
- Proven track record of SOX compliance and internal controls
- Texas tax preparation experience strongly preferred
- Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities for stakeholder reporting
- El Paso regional business knowledge advantageous
