Position reports directly to the CFO with opportunities to cross-train in specialized accounting domains. Perfect for CPAs or candidates pursuing CPA designation with 4+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end/year-end close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance reporting
- Lead internal control compliance and SOX documentation initiatives
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable functions and payroll processing
- Develop and implement process improvements using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Coordinate external audits and tax compliance activities
- Mentor junior accounting staff through training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA or CPA candidate required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros)
- Solid understanding of GAAP, SOX, and financial reporting standards
- Experience with ERP implementation and optimization projects
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation abilities
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
