Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable and payroll processing with zero-error tolerance
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements for executive leadership
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX regulations
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes with department heads
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights
- Manage tax preparation and filing processes with external auditors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA certification strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public or private sector
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel (VLOOKUP/PivotTables), and accounting software
- Demonstrated experience with multi-state tax compliance and audit preparation
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication abilities to translate financial data for non-financial stakeholders
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and controls
