Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) ensuring GAAP compliance.
- Lead internal audits and support external audits by coordinating documentation requests.
- Develop and implement financial controls to mitigate risk and ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Virginia-based leadership to provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
- Streamline accounting workflows using QuickBooks, SAP, and Excel automation tools.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in senior roles.
- Expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel (VBA skills a plus).
- Proven experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with remote and on-site teams.
