The Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making. You will lead key accounting functions, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and inter-company transactions on a monthly basis.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization remains compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations and internal policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization within the finance department to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Payroll Oversight: Assist in the month-end close process, including payroll accruals and adjustments.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (CPA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Certifications: Active CPA license is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
