Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee the daily operations of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Reconciliation: Perform complex account reconciliations for bank statements, credit cards, and inter-company accounts to identify discrepancies.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax documents and ensure strict adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize accounting workflows and implement best practices for efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to analyze data, spot errors, and ensure accuracy in all financial documents.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US tax laws and financial reporting standards.
